    Dear members of the Korean Physical Society,

    The 2024 KPS Spring Meeting will be held in Changwon Exhibition Convention Center, from April 23 (Tue) to April 26 (Fri.) in 2024. The conference program is now available on our websites above.

    The presenter of the meeting should check the program. Please email us (abstracts@kps.or.kr) by March 27 (Wed.) if there should be any change in the presentation schedule or modifications in the abstract. (Abstract revision is restricted to minor typo corrections and reordering of the authors.)

    Title: "Practical Quantum Computing with Trapped Ions"

    Abstract: Trapped atomic ions provide an ideal physical platform to build quantum computers and networks. Over the past decade or so, there has been substantial progress in leveraging this system to construct scalable and practical quantum information processors. In this talk, I will discuss the core physics and technical advances that were made that led to trapped ion quantum computers, and the insights that have been gained in designing and constructing robust systems that can potentially lead to scientifically meaningful computations and simulations.
